I grew up in Indianola and met my wife, Heather, in college. We were married in 2005 and have three kids, Trigg, Garrett, and Blythe. I love being a husband and a dad! Heather and I are actively involved in our church—I play electric guitar on the worship team and we are both on a leadership team for marriage ministry. I love to read and often have two or three books going at the same time. Theology and Christian thought are topics I’m especially interested in. I enjoy reading the classics, along with more recent authors including C.S. Lewis, Henri Nouwen, N.T. Wright, Timothy Keller, Dallas Willard, Donald Miller, Shane Hipps, Rob Bell—the list goes on!
I have completed six marathons and enjoy competing in shorter races around Des Moines. Music is also a big part of my life. I like all kinds—folk, bluegrass, hip-hop, gospel. Occasionally music will stir up a dance party in our kitchen!
In college, mathematics came easy to me. Numbers and people—I really like to use my analytical skills to help our clients establish goals and track progress toward those goals. I’m excited to be part of Foster Group, where I can help clients reach their goals through smart planning and educated decisions. I believe in the Foster Group values of integrity, humility, accountability, respect, excellence, and wisdom, and I am excited to be a catalyst for positive life change for our clients, providing financial solutions that reduce complexity and establish a high probability of success.
