Ben Berger is a Senior Associate Advisor at Foster Group. In this role, he assists with the delivery and implementation of financial plans and meets client service needs. Prior to joining Foster Group, Ben worked as an actuary for eight years. During this time, he rotated through several different areas and roles at a large insurance company, most recently helping modernize actuarial models for long-term products.
Ben grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and moved to Des Moines to attend Drake University.
Personal
I’m passionate about finding ways to help others achieve their goals. I’ve always enjoyed connecting with people and working with numbers, which makes financial planning the perfect fit! When looking to change careers and get into the financial planning profession, Foster Group was at the top of my list because of the emphasis on doing the right thing for clients rather than the easy thing.
In my free time, I enjoy being active. In the summer, that looks like riding my bike, running, playing golf and disc golf, and just about anything else you can do outside. I’m an avid skier, so in the winter, I try to be on a mountain for at least a week. My wife and I also love to travel. In addition to small trips throughout the year, we try to take a larger international trips every few years.

B.S. in Actuarial Science and a Concentration in Jazz Guitar from Drake University
