My Background

Professional

Marcus Iwig is a Senior Lead Advisor at Foster Group. Marcus has more than a decade of experience in accounting, finance, and investing. He holds a Bachelors degree and Master’s Degree in Accounting from Iowa State University and also is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®. He specializes in investment and planning strategies for corporate executives and business owners.

Marcus has extensive experience in developing, implementing and monitoring financial plans for executives that address the important issues facing them. Executives’ financial situations are complex, with multiple layers of compensation, different types of incentives, restricted stock, options, deferred compensation, insurance needs, and often quickly growing estates. Furthermore, most executives have so much on their plates in their roles as executives that they have precious little time to spend on family and friends, let alone managing their own finances.

Marcus’ expertise and experience, combined with Foster Group’s executive wealth management process, allow busy executives to deal with important issues such as:

  • Compensation
  • Benefits
  • Planning for highly concentrated stock positions
  • Equity Incentive Planning
  • Highly tax-efficient portfolio design
  • Tax planning for equity incentives and diversification of concentrated positions
  • Charitable gift planning with highly appreciated stock and equity awards
  • Estate planning and ongoing monitoring of estate tax strategies

Marcus possesses years of experience working with individual executives and partnering with corporations to offer planning services to their executive and management teams.

Personal

Faith and family are the center of my life. I live each day alongside my beautiful wife, Jamie, twin boys, Ryan and Jackson and daughter, Everly.  When I’m not at the office, we enjoy staying very active together. We love being outside, swimming, traveling, and getting to the gym each day. We also enjoy being very active in our church and are grateful for that community in our lives.

My favorite quote is by the American writer and theologian, Frederick Buechner: “The place where God calls you is the place where your deep gladness meets the world’s deep hunger.” I’m grateful to be at Foster Group where I’m able to combine my faith and mission into helping clients flourish through meaningful living and generous giving.
