I believe understanding someone’s personal history offers tremendous insight to their character. I was born and raised in the Midwest, in a very loving family. I watched my parents plug into each community where we lived, treating people with honesty, respect, and compassion.

As part of the ’91 University of Iowa football team, which was the Big 10 Champion and went to the Rose Bowl, I learned the importance of a team playing well together. I have also been fortunate to compete in and finish more than 80 triathlons, including five Ironman Triathlons and the 2008 Ironman World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

At Foster Group, I enjoy helping our clients persevere and get to their finish line. Our training plan could cover work issues, retirement and investment planning, cash flow, estate planning concerns, sibling relationships, paying for college, caring for elderly parents, and issues of ethical and moral responsibility. Coupled with a transparent, academically driven investment philosophy, we develop strategies with a high probability of success. And being “fee-only” consultants allows us to place the client’s best interests at the center of all our actions.
