Professional
Justin Powell is a Client Service Specialist at Foster Group. In this role, he partners with the Client Service Team and Advisors to support the needs of Foster Group’s clients. Based in the West Des Moines, Iowa office, Justin also works closely with custodians to open accounts, facilitate transfers, generate paperwork, and assist with a wide range of client requests.
Before joining Foster Group, Justin served over 21 years in the United States Air Force, where he held numerous leadership positions. He ultimately served on executive teams as a First Sergeant in Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE), as well as Security Forces units. In these roles, he was responsible for the readiness, health, and morale of the forces. His military service took him around the world and into multiple combat zones, culminating in his retirement at the rank of Master Sergeant.
Justin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from the University of Massachusetts Global, graduating magna cum laude. He also holds the Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™ (FPQP®) designation from Kaplan Financial Education.
Personal
I’ve always had a genuine passion for serving others. Being part of the Foster Group team allows me to serve clients in a meaningful way while building lasting relationships. One of my personal goals after leaving the Air Force was to find a career centered on service and giving back. Foster Group is the perfect place for me to fulfill that mission.
Outside of work, I enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, including gardening, walking my dog, and taking motorcycle rides. I also love traveling and spending quality time with my son, family, and friends.
