My Background

Professional

Brad Rempe is passionate about serving Foster Group’s clients by helping them accomplish the things that are most important to them. Brad’s desire to ask the questions that really matter contributes to his ability to help clients live and work with intentionality.

Brad earned his accounting degree from Central College in 1994, passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting exam in 1995, and in May 2010 earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation. Prior to joining Foster Group in 2007, Brad held corporate finance roles with The Quaker Oats Company, Barilla America, and Maytag/Whirlpool Corporation, most recently as the Director of Finance for Whirlpool’s Hoover Floorcare division.

Personal

Coming to Foster Group from a 13-year career in the corporate world, one of the things I’ve enjoyed most is the personal connection to serving people. The impact of my work just seems more meaningful to me.

As the youngest of seven children growing up on a dairy farm near Pella, Iowa, I was raised to build a foundation of faith, to value the gift of family, and to pursue God’s purpose for my life. These values remain important to me and are ones I hope to pass on to my own children. Regarding Foster Group, one of the things I am most thankful for is to be able to live each of these values every day and be surrounded by people who affirm and aspire to the same things.

While I love what I do at Foster Group, I also feel extremely blessed by my wife, Annie, and our three children, Grace, Sam, and Joey. With all three of our kids pretty active in school, youth sports, and church activities, Annie and I often comment on how busy our life seems. While a bit overwhelming at times, I suspect someday we’ll wish we could do it all over again. Watching the Chicago Cubs is another favorite pastime for our family.

Recent favorite reads include Moneyball by Michael Lewis, a fascinating look into the world of professional baseball; Good to Great by Jim Collins, which defines the factors that enabled some good companies to become great companies; and Don’t Count On It by Jack Bogle (the founder of Vanguard), which is full of rich thoughts for the financial services and investment industry.
