Jim is an Advisor at Foster Group. In this role, he assists with the delivery and implementation of financial plans and meets client service needs. Prior to joining Foster Group, Jim was with a regional credit union.

Personal

Originally from Spencer, I now live with my wife and our two kids in Johnston.  We enjoy watching our kids play baseball, softball, basketball, and roller hockey.  We also enjoy going to as many Johnston Dragons events as we can.  My wife and I both graduated from the University of Iowa, so we try to get to as many Hawkeye events as possible.  There is nothing better than watching the Hawkeyes wrestle in Carver-Hawkeye Arena!

I have always been interested in positively impacting people’s financial futures.  One of my favorite motivational speakers is Zig Ziglar, and he said, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”  I think that sentiment is what brought me to Foster Group.  I am motivated every day to live up to the incredible standards set by the people here.

When considering making a big life change, such as starting a new career, starting to exercise, starting a diet, or starting to make different financial decisions, I am reminded of the Chinese proverb “The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago.  The second-best time is now.”  I am grateful for the opportunity to help other people plant their trees.
