Tim Mabee is Foster Group’s Director of IT. He oversees all technology-related issues, including system innovation, IT strategy, information security, development, and systems maintenance. Prior to joining Foster Group, Tim spent a number of years in the Financial IT industry with a Des Moines Fortune 500 Company. Throughout his career, Tim has spent time in a number of roles including software development, system and infrastructure administration, and IT team leadership. Tim has led large scale IT projects that have had an international user base with products from industry leading vendors.

Personal

Naturally, as an IT professional, I enjoy using technology solutions to make life easier both in and out of the office. In my spare time, you will either find me on the golf course, working on a project, or spending time with family. As a family, we enjoy time at the lake, traveling, or just hanging out in the back yard with the grill going. 

Growing up, my parents taught me (and always reinforced) how important it is to “do the right thing.” Whether that was on the football or baseball field, extending a hand to help an opposing player up off the ground, or befriending the one who was an outsider to include them in a group. I feel it is just as important in business as it is in life to “do the right thing,” even when it may not be comfortable or profitable to do so. A related quote that I like from Zig Zigler reads: “With integrity, you have nothing to fear, since you have nothing to hide. With integrity, you will do the right thing, so you will have no guilt.” I’ve learned that making mistakes is inevitable, but doing the right thing when we make those mistakes is what is really important.
