Health Care Premiums Rising

Health insurance premiums have risen at a compound annual growth rate of 5.8% for employees and 6.2% for employers since 1999 (Kaiser Family Foundation). This is significantly higher than the Consumer Price Index (CPI). This broader measure of inflation over the same time period grew at approximately 2.6% annually (Bureau of Labor Statistics).
