My Background

Professional

In her role as Chief Operations Officer / Chief Compliance Officer, Kate Juelfs works to align business systems with the strategies of the company. Kate splits her time between regulatory compliance and business operations and oversees the Human Capital function. She is passionate about employee engagement and sustaining the culture of the firm. Kate’s past work experience includes working for a regional brokerage firm as Institutional Sales Manager. Kate holds her FINRA Series 66 and formerly held FINRA Series 7 and Iowa Insurance licenses. She graduated from Upper Iowa University with a degree in financial management.

Personal

I’m passionate about our client and employee experience, as well as understanding how our systems and operations can impact everyday experiences. Foster Group’s mission of ‘inspiring lives of meaning and generosity’ is a huge part of why I come to work each day. It speaks to the quality of the relationship we hope to build with our clients and employees.

As a working mother of two children, I have a great appreciation for keeping my goals concise and focusing on a simple life, executed well. My favorite quote from Marshall Field sums up much of what I try to remember on a daily basis, “Things to remember: 1) The worth of character, 2) The improvement of talent, 3) The influence of example, 4) The joy of origination, 5) The dignity of simplicity, 6) The success of perseverance.”

Our family loves to spend time outdoors, especially on the water, and preferably with a fishing pole in hand. I’m an avid reader of everything from fiction to memoirs and am always looking for book recommendations.
