Professional

Jason Brown is the Director of Advisor Success at Foster Group. In this role, he assists the Lead Advisors in client relations, personal development, and internal leadership. Before joining Foster Group, Jason spent 20 years as a pastor in university and church settings. Most recently, Jason was one of the founding pastors of City Church, an urban, multi-ethnic church plant in Long Beach, California. Jason graduated from Central College, in Pella, with a bachelor’s degree in business management and was also a member of the golf and basketball teams.

Personal

I made the change in career from pastor to financial advisor because of a long-held curiosity about the intersection of faith and business/money. I accepted the position at Foster Group because of their fiduciary commitment to serve the best interest of their clients, a disciplined and thoughtful approach to investment management and an institutional humility that encourages learning and change.

I’ve been married to Emilie for eighteen years. We have three children – Joe, Jack, and Pearl. Our family likes sports – a lot. During her time in college, Emilie won a National Championship and was National Player of the Year in basketball, so I attribute most of our kids’ athletic ability to their mom. While I loved living in Long Beach, it’s good to be in a place where people know how to sing, “In Heaven There Ain’t No Beer” (although I think it’s rather poor theology).
