Des Moines University is the 15th largest medical school in the U.S., and they are thinking outside the box as they prepare medical students to go out and impact the world. DMU students are given an option to go to third world countries to learn, serve, and gain a broader perspective of the medical needs abroad.
The impact DMU is having is significant. As Foster Group became exposed to the program, we confirmed that it fit very well with our core values and our mission to be catalysts for positive life change.
Foster Group takes much joy being the founding partner to DMU's Global Health program. We have committed to DMU's Global Health Program by establishing The Foster Group Fund for Global Health and have made an initial four year financial commitment. The fund will be used to send medical students to third world countries to experience global health first hand. Foster Group will participate in the selection of students and will take great interest in their experience and follow up.
This fund will be for the exclusive use of our firm and our clients to invest in global health. The vision we have for this initiative is that together, we can make a difference. Our goal is to create opportunities for our team and our clients to participate on different levels. This includes both contributing financially in order to send as many students as possible, as well as providing opportunities to accompany the various teams and give of our time and expertise.
