Personal Thoughts
I believe the Lord uses experiences in our young adult life to help us fulfill responsibilities later in life. I think back to life as a college student at Northwestern where, in the fall of 1973, I was a member of their first NAIA national championship football team. The dedication, discipline and hard work necessary to reach that level of success provided me with invaluable life lessons that I have applied to my walk with the Lord, life with my family and my career at Foster Group.
My focus at Foster Group is to dedicate myself to creating a team of professionals whose core purpose is to significantly impact the lives of those they serve. In addition, I am devoted to creating a workplace where people are committed and excited to come to work. I believe that in accomplishing theseobjectives, Foster Group has a high probability of success as well as the ability, and opportunity, to significantly affect many lives.
Branch Rickey said, “Luck is the residue of design.” Foster Group is the benefactor of our successful clients; I do not believe we are just “lucky.” The actions we take and the decisions we make are all focused on the individual needs of our clients.
I live on a farm near Winterset, Iowa, the setting for “The Bridges of Madison County” with Cyndy, my wife of thirty years, and our four children. My recreational time is spent with my family or being outdoors. With a stocked pond, plenty of timber, open pasture, and a golf course minutes away, my favorite activities include fishing, hunting, four-wheeling and golf.
