Personal Thoughts

Growing up, like most kids, I played a lot of sports. One of the most valuable lessons I learned was the importance of teamwork. Teamwork is one of the reasons I chose financial planning as a profession. It’s also an intrinsic part of how we deliver wealth management services here at Foster Group. I enjoy evaluating each of our clients’ situations and partnering with them to achieve what is most important to them.

Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters. We’re in the “toddler phase” right now, and very, very busy! Local parks, the zoo, and swimming pools are frequent summer-time “hang-outs.”

I also enjoy writing and performing music, and regularly lead worship at our church. Other activities I enjoy include football, hunting, and downhill skiing.

One of my favorite quotes is from Charles R. Swindoll: “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” My dad used to say this to me frequently when I was growing up. I’ve learned that we often have two choices in tough situations; we can resent our circumstances and let them define us or we can choose to learn from what’s happened and positively move forward.
